Green Street Glow Garden x Culture Within Newham

In February 2026, Culture Within Newham transformed Queen’s Square on Green Street into a world of light and imagination.

At the centre of the experience was Luma, a mesmerising soft-robotic creation by Air Giants. Towering, graceful and lit from within, Luma is a nine-metre long snail who responds gently to the people around her, inviting play and connection.

Surrounding Luma was a whimsical garden of twelve interactive plant sculptures, each standing 2.5 metres tall, and an ambient musical soundtrack written by young people from Links Studios in Canning Town.

Art in the Docks is proud to have partnered with Culture Within Newham and Green Street Library to deliver the “Snacky the Snail Workshop”

With over 80 amazing participants, families and friends came together to create colourful flowers, buzzing pollinators, shining suns, and imaginative garden gifts for the Glow Garden creatures.

From tiny makers to grown-up creatives, everyone added their own spark to our growing world of light and imagination.

Thank you to Culture Within Newham and the Green Street Library, and especially to everyone who joined us, shared smiles, and helped turn creativity into something truly special. We loved making with you!
