Interactive, festive activities for all!
University of East London’s Undergraduate and Postgraduate Open Day on Saturday 22 November, will feature several interactive festive activities for everyone to enjoy – local community, families, students and staff! Delivered in partnership with Art in the Docks, these activities will be a great opportunity to explore creativity, connect with others and experience the vibrant spirit of our campuses through unique hands-on workshops.
Our interactive festive activities will run across the three main university campuses (Docklands, Stratford and University Square Stratford) throughout the day from 10am – 2pm.
Spaces are free to book, but there is limited availability, to avoid dissapointment, please book in advance
Activities will include
Aromatherapy Candle Making
Learn how to make your own candle using natural soy wax and simple materials. You will be shown how to melt the wax, add calming fragrance and pour it into a container to create your own candle to take home. It’s an easy, fun activity for all ages – no experience needed.
Festive Embroidery Workshop
Discover simple embroidery techniques while working on two personalised projects – a custom tote bag and festive felt Christmas ornaments. Using colourful threads, felt and decorative embellishments, you’ll design and stitch your own creations from unique patterns on your tote bag to handmade ornaments that make perfect tree decorations or thoughtful gifts. This relaxed, social session is great for anyone wanting to try something new or unwind creatively. No experience needed just bring your ideas and leave with beautiful, handcrafted pieces to show off or share this holiday season.
Marbled Paper Funky Festive Cards
Available at Docklands and Stratford only
Learn how to make your own collaged festive cards using a mix of colourful papers, textures and festive materials. You will experiment with layering, cutting and arranging shapes to design unique cards. You will explore simple collage techniques and combine recycled and decorative elements. Suitable for all ages.
Fashion Life Drawing
Available at Docklands only
Exercise your creative and illustrative skills to capture the garment in front of you. A live model will stand in front of you, wearing an outfit that capitalizes on shape and texture. Using a variety of mediums, you will draw, paint, and sketch the outfits that appear. Have fun playing with different styles and materials to see what you can achieve!
