A Community Midwinter Parade

On December 13th, residents of east London’s Docklands communities came together in a public event celebrating the Winter Solstice.

On one of the shortest days of the year, people of all generations, backgrounds and faiths took part in a spectacular and unifying community procession supported by illuminated stiltwalkers and a brass band.

It concluded with community singing, mince pies, roasted chestnuts, hot chocolate, chai and marshmallows. If ever there was an event that included something for everyone, this was it.
