Charlotte Winifred Guérard

Charlotte Winifred Guérard’s practice questions the ways in which a painting can be viewed, activated and displayed today. Her process is about finding structures or systems which allow her to experiment with her medium whilst considering space, time, performance, and movement. The themes attached to her images are influenced by her immediate surroundings, landscapes, the everyday and memory which overall make up her ‘Dictionary of Ideas and Images’.

Charlotte is a recent graduate from the Royal Academy of Arts Schools. In 2025 she was the recipient of the Paul Smith - Windsor & Newton International Art Prize 2025 and the Almacantar studio Prize. Her work has been exhibited in the UK at : Coleman Project Space 2025, Palmer Gallery 2024, Messums Gallery 2024, the Royal Academy of Arts  2023-2024-2025, as well as in France at Maison Normande, 2021.

Alongside her practice, Charlotte teaches creative workshops in art institutions such as the Royal Academy of Arts and during artist residencies around the UK.
