Strategic Advisor – Community Health & Engagement

Mavis Wenham is a highly experienced community development and health engagement practitioner with more than 30 years' experience working across health, social care, resident participation and community leadership.

A qualified youth worker and social worker, Mavis has held senior roles spanning community development, commissioning, public involvement and service improvement. She is the founder of ANKH Place CIC, a Newham-based organisation dedicated to strengthening health, wellbeing and community resilience through resident-led approaches.

Throughout her career, Mavis has championed co-production, equality and inclusion, helping ensure that the voices of local communities are reflected in the design and delivery of services. Her work has brought together residents, statutory agencies, healthcare providers and voluntary sector organisations to address health inequalities and improve outcomes.

As Strategic Advisor to the CHeX Newham initiative, Mavis provides guidance on community engagement, creative health, co-production and the development of sustainable partnerships that place local people at the centre of decision-making.
