Tessa Grimshaw
Tessa Grimshaw is an artist and facilitator with a strong interest in the physical language of arts and crafts, and in the stories these processes reveal about how we relate to materials, to the landscapes we inhabit, and to ourselves. Her practice centres on ceramics, where she explores the expressive and transformative potential of clay as both a medium and a collaborator.
Alongside her studio work, Tessa leads clay workshops for the Saturday Kids Club at Art in the Docks, guiding young participants in translating ideas from the imagination into tangible creations. Through a playful, hands-on approach, she introduces making as an alchemic process, where thought becomes form, and where the tactile qualities of materials invite curiosity, experimentation, and discovery. Her workshops encourage children to engage their senses, build confidence in their creative voice, and develop a deeper connection to the act of making.
