Half-Term Session: Autumn Lantern

  • Art in the Docks 25 Shackleton Way London United Kingdom (map)

Family Half-Term Drop In Session

A relaxed, family-friendly two-hour autumn lantern-making workshop, designed for children and adults to enjoy together during the half-term break.

Inspired by the colours and textures of the season, participants will create their own decorative lanterns using lightweight paper, tissue, leaves and other simple craft materials. Families can experiment with warm autumn colours, leaf shapes and patterns before assembling a lantern to take home.

The session will run on a drop-in basis, allowing families to arrive at any point during the two-hour period and stay for as long as they need to complete their lantern. Artists will be on hand throughout to demonstrate the process, help with construction and encourage participants to develop their own designs.

No previous art or craft experience is needed, and the activity can be adapted for different ages and abilities. Younger children should take part with a parent or carer.

These workshops are funded by Newham’s People Powered Places and supported by the Notting Hill Genesis Love While You Live Fund and Royal Docks Trust.

We thank them for their continued support in making these workshops possible.
